I submitted two child renewals at the same time. One went through very easily, but this took 1 week longer. I did use the chat service to ask if there were any issues as I need the passports for October, and although I was told that there was nothing that could be done until 6 weeks. Interestingly, the passport was then approved a couple of hours after this conversation and sent out via DHL instead of royal mail.
