A much easier experience than I had expected it would be using the online service.
Had been anxious of the at home self taken photo being accepted but it was approved on the first attempt.
Updates received via email were clear and helpful although I didn’t receive one regarding delivery or tracking but that seems to be the courier’s responsibility to do so.
Thirteen days from submission to receiving new passport six days of which were waiting for my old passport to be delivered to them. So all in all a welcome surprise at how quick and easy it was.

Note documents were posted on 12/8/23 (around 2pm) which accounts for 8 days of the wait.
Two standard passport adult renewals were done together, old passports sent in together – as requested by passport office BOTH PEX numbers were included on the front of the envelope.
This passport took 6 days longer to renew than the other one, which I found weird given they actual tell you to put related passports in the same envelope and mark all the PEX numbers on front of envelope !! But then I guess we don’t know how they process the renewals, ie split up according to alphabetical order??

Ensure the photov s on a plain white background. Initial photo appeared as ‘good’ but we were asked to resubmit a new one. However the photo was approved minutes after resubmission, so it didn’t delay approval.

Very easy experience after anticipating a 10 week wait. Corby office received my passport on 8th August, approved on 15th August and printed 16th August. I received my new passport on 18th August in New York, followed by my old passport with valid visa on 22nd August. Less than three weeks in total from overseas! Thank you.
