When I got the ‘delivery today’ text the same day as they told me the passport had been printed, I thought I was being scammed somehow. Less than 2 weeks from online application to holding the new passport in my hand, I’ve had slower Amazon deliveries. V impressed.

Passport posted 11 August. Royal Mail special delivery delivered to HMPO on 14 August. HMPO update old passport received on 16 August. Approval given 21 August, and printed 22 August. New Passport arrived 23 August. A lot of lag time during weekend days, but still processed within 2 weeks. Average usual time experienced when compared to last passport renewal 10 years ago. Old Passport arrived 24 August (paid extra £5 for secure return).
