I completed the application online on the evening of Monday 19th June. I sent my old passport back on Tueaday 20th special delivery and it arrived on Wednesday 21st June. Arrived on Tuesday 27th June. Extremely happy with the process, how easy the application was and the tracking system online to see updates on what’s going on and where it is.

Really fast service. 9 days start to finish. Applied Saturday night, Delayed sending old passport back until Monday due to post office being shut but old passport sent back next day recorded, once they received it on the Tuesday, new passport was approved Wednesday, printed Thursday.

Standard renewal (3rd) sent to Durham office. Two days to receive documents, photo passed no problem first submission. Approval text received on the 9th. Printed on the 11th and received back 13th.

Applied for 2 adult renewals and 2 first child passports. Dreadful experience. HMPO lost 3 birth certificates that were in their care and we have to get these reissued. They then made no attempt to speed things up and put us back to the start. It took about 3 months. They still haven’t apologised or compensated us for costs incurred due to their loss.
