It is important to note that the passport processing only begins when the status changes to ‘Documents received’. So from thereon, my application took one week (weekends in between). I also submitted my application on a Saturday and took another day to post my documents.

Overall its been good and fast – used the Photobooth picture so no issues there. Only hiccup was at HH post room where it took longer to scan the documents. Documents reached around 24th and got scanned on the 29th. From thereon it was fairly swift. Got Royal Mail tracking details straight after Passport Printed message.

I applied online on the Sunday, posted old passport first class on the Monday and received passport on Friday. The old post was delivered at the same time.
One minor point, email notifications were better than text. I received a text saying my application was approved after getting the email saying it was printed.

Documents were never marked as recieved by passport office so had to phone multiple times to ask about cancelling my old passport. Was told 3 different things by each person I spoke to. Last person was very helpful and I recieved my passport just over a week after speaking to them and having my passport marked as lost.

Fucking amazing – was shitting myself cause I’m leaving on the 8th so left it 10 days max but trusted all the reports on this site and decided to save money by not paying for fast track. In the end was almost certainly quicker than a fast tracked one!

Very quick and easy. Taking a picture at home made things a liter easier and cheaper! The passport probably would have been issued sooner but we did not send the birth certificate until 4 days after the initial application.

Really easy online and fast shipment to Spain. Easy to upload photo with an instant revision of the photo and likelihood of it being accepted
From the day they received my old passport, the new one was in my hands in Spain in one week.
Regular updates by SMS and email. Also emails from DHL with shipping numbers.
23 Jan Applied online and uploaded photo taken with mobile. Sent old passport the same day by DHL Spain to the UK next day service. Old passport delayed one day by DHL due to weather.
25 Jan. DHL confirm delivery of old passport to Corby (AM). At 6pm received email from HMPO confirming it was received
29 Jan. Application approved.
30 Jan. Passport printed.
1 Feb. New passport delivered to Spain by DHL.
2 Jan. Email from DHL to confirm old passport is with them and will be delivered on 5th.
