Comments:
I applied on the day I received my citizenship certificate. I had primed my referee to be ready to confirm my identity as soon as he would receive the email (which he did on the same day I applied) and used Royal Mail Next Day Delivery. They matched my documents with the application in one working day since receiving them and my passport was approved the day after. I got a notification my passport had been printed, and it still hasn’t updated to reflect it has been dispatched (and now received!)

renewed online on 06/11/2023 with digital photo from Photo.me booth. Sent existing passport by first class signed for postal service on same day. New passport received via Royal Mail at noon 09/11/2023.
(Automated updates on Messages from the Passport Office appear to be behind the actual process. It was still showing that the passport was being sent to their Delivery Service after it had been delivered by Royal Mail. This may be because of their super fast service)
