First issue I had was at the photo booth. I had to place my coat folded onto the photo booth stool as it didn’t rotate high enough for my five year old.
The only other issue I had was when uploading the digital photo using the code provided. The government website kept saying that it couldn’t differentiate between the image and the background. I’m guessing it’s some computer error as the pictures looked perfect to me. I ignored it anyway and they have approved the passport. I reckon some people would panic and go get new photos costing more money. If you think your photos are good according to the government guidelines (check their website) then you are probably right even if the message says otherwise. I would also advise you get someone that can countersign the photos by email immediately rather than a busy bee. Finally, once you have the photo countersigned electronically then send the documents/old passport requested ASAP and 1st class signed for to get the process moving. All in all it took 10 days from submitting application to receiving the new passport. Hope this helps. Good luck to everyone.
