I submitted my application by post on paper forms and received my passport 9 calendar days later with an email from the post office letting me know the documents submitted with the application will be delivered on day 12. I class that as first class service.

I submitted my application on the 27th of Feb.
Sent my passport first class tracked on the 28th of Feb. It arrived there at 10 am on the 29th.
They didn’t mark it as received until the 1st of March
6th March they approved
7th March they printed and sent in the evening
8th March out I should receive it today.
Received constant updates throughout the process by SMS and email.

Used digital application submitted on Thursday Feb 29th. Photo done via code number from photo booth which worked well. Sent old passport on Friday March 1st which arrived at Passport Office first thing Monday March 4th. Received email acknowledgement later on Monday, another email on Wednesday saying approved and later on Wed an email saying printed. New passport arrived on Friday March 8th

Comments:
Very simple and efficient. Current normal processing times do not warrant paying the priority processing fee. The process does have a small glitch – our identity referee has 2 middle names on their passport, both together were too long for the field on the online form, but any single name wasn’t enough and the referee wasn’t recognised by the automated check. In the end we had to find a different referee to validate the photo/application. A simple fix to the web form but one to be mindful of in the meantime . In any case, the rest of the process was quick!

Applied Monday 26th Feb for 2 child renewals and received the new passports Friday 8th March, super quick process. Sent both old passports back to Corby office together on Wednesday 28th Feb tracked 48 large letter, arrived Friday 1st March and marked as received by passport office Monday 4th March. Passports approved Wed 6th, printed Thur 7th and delivered Fri 8th.
