Submitting my renewal application Tuesday morning took photo uploaded it on the website, Didn’t ask me to get my photo verified by anybody , said I could send it right away so I Posted my old passport off Tuesday morning 10 am first class recorded, New passport received 9:40 am Friday morning four days from start to finish amazing never known at this quick!

* Ordered renewal online Friday 8th March evening
* Sent old passbook 24 hour special delivery Saturday 9th March (missed deadline so not picked up til Monday 11th March)
* Old passbook confirmed receipt in HMPO on March 12th
* New passport in hand Friday March 15th by 11am!

I must say that it was a pleasant surprise for my passport to arrive so quickly. I am going away in April and have read that some Asian countries are strict around damaged passports and mine was (slightly) water-damaged. Overall good communication from a government organisation – there’s a first for everything!

Whole thing very easy: submitted saturday 9th, sent old passport special delivery that afternoon (after last post), they received old passport Tuesday, I had new passport on Thursday, and received old passport on Friday (I paid the £5 for recorded delivery for old passport return)!

13/09 application, Docs recieved 19/09 and authorised 6am 25/09 and printed 2pm same day. Notified by RM that delivery was expected 26/09 early evening and it was in hand by 5pm.
Although the photo was accepted online and it was third party confirmed as true resemblance to my daughter, they requested another picture as they thought it was not recent (she looks younger than her years!!) but when uploaded it was immediately accepted (4min) so didn’t delay it thankfully.
