The only downside is I wasn’t informed of any documents received nor when the passport was going to be issued or delivered.

Only negative was how slow DHL were compared with the method I sent my documents from New Zealand with. DHL bounced it around Auckland for 4 days, but it arrived on the estimated day initially given. My old passport is currently shown as 8 days behind the new.

I was expecting to have to wait 3-4 weeks minimum and for that was considering going to the uk in person and paying the premium for the fast track service. No need the whole process has taken 12 days! From Spain using courier to deliver ( which cost a premium ) if less rush I think registered post would have still been quick enough.
