Once approved on Monday the 5th June the passport is in my hand Wednesday the 7th June. So technically lightning fast service. However I am British born & fortunate enough to have Irish grandparents so am eligable for Irish citizenship. I sent my Irish passport in as requested in original application. My middle name is not in my Irish passport so this was a spanner in the works. The official website states that a deed poll is only required for change of first or last name, not necessary for dropping a middle name, so that confusion lead to this delay. I recommend not sending your other nationality passport if you are born in UK.

Applying for an adult passport renewal online was quite straightforward. Having your old passport to hand helps answer some of the questions and makes the process smoother. I posted the old passport back as soon as possible to avoid delay. Very pleased by the speed of processing and delivery of the new passport.

I’ve submitted my submission date as the date they received my old passport. I applied on 26/04/2023 but I wasn’t able to send them my passport straight away. I sent my passport via DHL from Malaysia which only took 2 days, they received it on 5th May, and I received my new passport back in Malaysia on 22nd May. My old passport was then back with me on 25th May. Very speedy service!
