Overall really good, i did use the post office service. They filled incorrect Place of Birth on Application, I sorted out by calling HMPO when they requested for additional documents.
It took 9 working days to approve and 11 work days to receive new passport.

Note we sent two applications on the same day; both old passports went at the same time in the same post box, but the second took two further days to change to “documents received”. So don’t worry if it doesn’t happen as quick as you expect.

Much faster than I expected it to be.
Application was submitted late on 4th August.
Old passport sent off 5th August but due to weekend not delivered to passport office until Tuesday 7th August.
Marked as received by passport office on 8th August, marked as accepted and “printing” same day.
Marked as “being delivered” on the 9th and received lunchtime 10th August.
