When I submitted the online photo ID I got an automated message saying there might not be enough contrast between myself and the background, but I proceeded anyway. The next day I was a bit worried this might cause a delay so I called the passport office. I got through very easily and the person I spoke to was most helpful. She told me if there was a problem with the photo I would be given instructions to upload another. However, the picture was accepted within a couple of days. My passport arrived toady, ten days after submission. Great service!

Can’t fault the overall service, faster than quoted and very easy, extremely satisfied(9 days start to finish). Just waiting for documents to be returned, that include a valid foreign passport.

Applied on the 10th digitally using an online photo checker first and then send my old passport the next day. They received it 2 days later then on the 28th it was approved to print and shipped the same day.

Was pleased that I only had to wait 7 days between the acknowledgement of receipt of the required documents and delivery of the replacement UK passport.
In terms of room for improvement, however, it took 2 days beween delivery of my documents at the Hemel Hempstead Passport Office and acknowledgement of receipt; and my documents were not returned in the same tracked envelope as my new passport – was the latter really so hard to arrange?
In fact, there has not been any indication of how long I will have to wait for my documents to be returned to me.

Overall quite an easy experience. Only thing was my counter signatory’s got rejected twice . But was still very quick .
