It was very quick and easy to have my passport renewed. I submitted the passport just before Christmas and even with the bank holidays it only took a week for the passport to arrive from when they received my old passport

I sent the online application on Wednesday and posted my old passport (to be signed for) on the same day. On Thursday I received text and email messages informing me of their receipt. On Friday I had a text saying it had been approved and was going to be printed and a text from Royal Mail saying it would be delivered the following day, Saturday. Which it was, in the time interval stated. Very impressive service!

I applied online for my renewal on Tuesday 19th December. Sent my old passport at 2pm on 20th December (tracked postage) and received my new passport by 10am on Saturday 23rd December. Less than 48 hours from processing my application to receiving my renewed passport. Incredibly quick turnaround time I was very impressed and so grateful as the official website states minimum 3 weeks!

A whole different thing to how things were just a few months ago.
Adult renewal with a name change from overseas.
Received January 2, 2023 one day earlier than expected (even counting new year’s day holiday).
Passport printed 10:10pm on 27 December 2023 (I’m sure it would have been printed earlier but it was a weekend, then christmas and then boxing day).
Application approved 1:09pm on 22 December 2023
Documents received 7:55am on 19 December 2023 (Actually delivered on December 18 2023 but only acknowledged on the 19)
Application received 1:46am on 14 December 2023
