We applied for my son’s passport renewal on 27th June, and received passport just today. That is after nearly 1 and half months. Supporting documents were sent to Peterborough but was processed by Newport.

We sent the supporting documents on 1st July, which was received by HMPO on 2nd July. However, it took nearly 10 days for them to say “Documents received”.

As we have to flyout on 15th August (Not a holiday, but due to job) I had quiet a bit of stressful time, including many sleepless nights. Called their call centre many times, also called my local Conservatives MP.

I believe it is essential that they should know when you are flying, so that they can prioritise your application, at least 2 weeks before you fly out.
