London HM Passport Office is the capital’s regional customer service centre for booked urgent passport appointments. It sits in the Excel / Royal Victoria Dock area of east London (E16), not at a traditional high-street counter.

You cannot normally walk in without an appointment. Complete your online application and select a Premium or Fast Track collection/appointment slot before you travel.

Yes. London Passport Office is an HM Passport Office customer service centre for booked visits. It is not a walk-in counter for standard applications. Finish your online application and choose a Premium collection time or Fast Track appointment before you travel.

Services available at London Passport Office

Urgent appointments are booked through the official GOV.UK service. Eligibility and fees can change — always confirm details when you apply.

  • One-day Premium

    • Only available for eligible adult passport renewals
    • Passport is normally ready to collect about four hours after the appointment
    • The earliest appointment is ordinarily two days after applying

  • One-week Fast Track

    • Can cover renewals, changes of details, lost or damaged passports and many child passports
    • Completed passport is normally delivered by courier about one week after the appointment
    • Cannot be used for a first adult passport
    • Saturday slots may be available at this office

Walking distance
Roughly 10–15 minutes on foot from Custom House or Royal Victoria, depending on the route through the Excel complex
Public transport
Elizabeth line and DLR serve Custom House; DLR also stops at Royal Victoria. Local buses serve Western Gateway and the Excel area. Allow extra time for security and wayfinding inside the campus.
Parking
Paid parking is available around the Excel / Western Gateway area. Spaces can be busy on event days — check Excel parking information before you travel if you intend to drive.
Accessibility
The Excel campus is generally step-free with lifts and level access routes, but follow on-site signage for Warehouse K and allow time if you need assistance.
Where to wait
Cafés and seating are available in and around Excel. Arrive shortly before your appointment rather than very early, as waiting space near the office entrance can be limited.
Entrance / building
Follow signs for Warehouse K on Western Gateway. The building is part of the Excel estate — confirm the entrance named in your appointment email.
Saturday appointments
Saturday opening is listed for one-week Fast Track appointments only. Premium one-day collection is a weekday service.
  • Excel events can increase traffic and crowd levels — check whether a major event is on the same day.
  • If you are collecting a Premium passport, build in time to return to the same building later the same day.

  • Your appointment confirmation (email or printed)
  • Your application reference beginning with PEX
  • Your existing passport, if you are renewing or replacing it
  • Any supporting documents listed in your confirmation
  • A compliant digital passport photo / photo code if required for your application
  • A payment card if a balance is still due
  • Arrive a little early — appointments usually last up to about ten minutes
