It took a few days for the old passport receipt status to be updated on the application tracker, which was a bit stressful.
But I had posted it recorded so I knew they were in possession of it, despite it not being matched to the application yet.
Once they acknowledged receipt of old passport, application was processed quickly.

Applied for my new passport on Friday, sent my old one on Saturday morning and received my new one the following Thursday. 7 days from start to finish. I was really impressed.
