Need:
Birth certificate official copy from local council registrar (sometimes hospital can facilitate) I had to go to Westminster Register Office with appointment (takes 20 mins in person)
One parent’s original International passport and ILR card to be mailed in
No need for grand parents birth certificates or anything else form suggests online, only the person through whom claiming British right

The complete process was excellent and very quick. I made the application online from UAE on 6 November. I sent my old passport back on the same day, 6 November Passport office received on the system 10 November. Application approved 14 November, Passport printed on 14 November. Received back via DHL in UAE on 18 November.

It took 207 days from the paperwork being received at Liverpool, to the passport being received for a first child overseas passport.
