Appears that a human reviewed my application as I got a notification that my hair merged with the background of my photo booth photo. i responded that my hair was grey/white and that my photo reflected what I looked like. My wife’s application took a day less than mine.

Very fast. My child had their surname changed since their first passport so I expected it to take longer especially when I didn’t manage to get documents sent until the 14th so feel it was an incredibly fast turn around.

Saturday 4th November: Online passport application received, Old passport sent (recorded delivery) from France same day.
Monday 13th November: Old passport received
16th November: Passport application approved
17th November: New passport printed
21st November: New passport arrived via DHL
So, the longest part was getting the old passport to the UK. I could have sent it next day delivery, but the 60+ Euro fee and the fact that I wasn’t in a rush meant I chose the slower mail option.
