Does anyone know if you need to sign for the passport?

Are TNT as bad as made out?

For anyone who has been lucky enough to receive their passport.

I can’t remember if mine took the full 14 days but it wasn’t far off it. I had phoned to query it (managed to get through that time) and that’s when I was told of the timescales. I’m sure it states it now on the tracking site.

@Lleach chances are they do have yours. I was told it takes them up to 14 days to update the tracking app from when received.

    Hi

My experience has been documented above and received another update today that my child’s passport is being printed. So I guess I am one of the lucky ones. But until it’s in my hand I’ll not be convinced.

I applied on 2nd April. Documents received 19th April and no update until Friday last.

It seems once it’s approved it moves quickly. From reading others experiences if approved you often get another message two days later about it being printed.

I applied online both parents have a passport and both passports in married name. If that makes any difference.

Sorry just noticed yours doesn’t say approved but processed. Wonder if there’s a difference in terminology.

    Hope you get them soon.

I’m now starting to panic. Thought worst was over when I got the text to say application approved.

I fly around same time as you so I hope mine is printed and sent soon.

Anybody know average time between being approved and sent out?

Hi mine were sent to bootle.

It took over 2 weeks for the system to update from date they were sent to being marked as received.

Update. Got a text to say passport approved

    Timeline below

    Application approved 12:43pm on 6 May 2022
    Documents received 12:20pm on 19 April 2022
    Application received 1:08pm on 4 April 2022
Identity details received 1:08pm on 4 April 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 1:58pm on 2 April 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 1:56pm on 2 April 2022
    Application submitted 1:56pm on 2 April 2022

Not gloating just to hopefully give some hope to others that it is being dealt with albeit slowly.

Still to get printed and sent to me so not out of the woods yet but there’s hope.

I had to send docs to bootle.

I am due to fly on 6th June so have a bit of time but starting to worry.

    Thanks

Slightly different from me but hopefully same outcome that they don’t need our marriage cert.

I am also waiting for a child’s first passport.

Applied on 2nd April, documents received 19th April but nothing since.

I am hoping they aren’t going to ask for our marriage certificate. Is this the case for every application?

Is there a particular reason they ask for it? Even if the parents passport details are given and are in the married name?
