Betty0236 – if you have sent in the old passport already you need to request it back from the passport office, apparently it’s taking 2 weeks to get them back to you unfortunately.

hairandbeauty – we went Monday 28th at 9.00am.. they told us there was no backlog for FT’s and we’d definitely have it the same week but latest by today (04/04). I spoke to the progress team on Friday who said they were still working on it!! I’m not holding my breath that it will arrive today. We were supposed to fly yesterday and FT appointment was a last resort after holding out for our normal application which was submitted in February and is still showing as ‘processing’.

cjay – That’s so bad!! I hope they compensate you somehow.. I think you can put in a compensation request for late fast tracks (not that it helps when you’re trying to go away!)
My partner did the same thing as me.. we took in letters of withdrawal to our Fast Track appointment on Monday. They emailed him yesterday saying can you confirm you wish to withdraw your normal application which and he emailed back to confirm (they obviously didn’t even look at his withdrawal letter!). However my normal application is still showing as processing online and I can’t get an update from passport office about my Fast Track!

I called this morning about my Fast Track application and they told me customer service aren’t unable to track them properly. Apparently this shouldn’t concern me (???) it’s just because it is a guaranteed service and they probably don’t update the system as they go along!?
We’ve paid for a premium service but not for updates is what they’ve told me..

Anyway my old passport application is still showing as ‘processing’ on the system and my new one I can’t track so we just have to sit and wait. I logged a request for a call from the progress team but this takes 72 hours (which takes me past the 7 day guaranteed service date..). The whole system is so flawed!! It seems it doesn’t matter which route you take it’s purely just a waiting game.

I would suggest trying your fast track reference number in the tnt track and trace system. Sorry I can’t be of any further help!

I agree.. I’m a bit annoyed at myself that we didn’t just do Fast Track but at nearly double the price of a normal application it wasn’t really something we could do back in Feb when we first applied.
I’m actually having dreams that I’ve put the wrong information on forms I submitted on Monday haha .. losing the plot now.
I phoned today to request to pickup the passport instead of wait on delivery.. they told me they don’t usually it but if I had a special circumstance, I could put in a request to management. They then tried to put me through to the customer service management team and I was on hold for over an hour before I had to give up and go into work. I tried to get through later today but no joy!

I’m thinking about using the covid flexibility route. I fly on Sunday and still no sign of passport. It also says on their faqs that if you have covid symptoms they advise you jot to fly and use flexibility plan 🤷‍♀️
Will let you know how I get on if it comes to that!

    Hey,

    So quick update..
My partner went to Liverpool passport office on Monday morning for 9.00am appointment.
For reference I have no idea which office our existing applications are but I live in London so assume London and my partner lives in Leeds so assume his would be different. Also worth noting that we had lost our old passports and so didn’t have to request them back from passport office first which I think is taking 2 weeks.

Anyway the guy checked over our applications, pictures and withdrawal letters, said they were all fine.. didn’t ask too may questions. He also said we’d be really unlucky not to get it in time (famous last words) I’ve not yet heard anything and our existing applications are still showing as ‘processing’ online, however with how long they are taking to update things online I’m trying not to let this bother me too much.

I’ve also read that you can go and pick up a fast track passport in person once it’s been printed so I’m going to call today to check on progress and if we can we’ll go pick it up this week to avoid TNT problems.

I lost my passport during a house move and my partner had his stolen last year so we didn’t have a passport to give back to do a standard passport renewal so we had to do a lost/ stolen passport application

We took a letter saying we wanted to cancel our current application for lost/stolen passport replacement and go with the fast track service appointment (date, time, HMPO office location). I included as much info as possible .. so full name, dob, address, email, plus existing passport application number and the date that was submitted.
I also included a second later which gave the details of the stolen passport – the police reference number and reference number from the passport office when I’d reported it to them.
Basically just cover all bases haha and triple check the form / photos to make sure they have nothing to come back to you on.
If someone is going to the fast track appointment on your behalf you have to take a letter authorising the person (give there name) to apply on your behalf and sign it (again I included the information I possibly could on the letter).
They didn’t say anything about where the current application ha gone. I assumed mine went to London but my partner went to the passport office in Liverpool on my behalf and they said it was fine .. I’ve not heard anything from them to say otherwise!

I’m in exactly the same boat. My fast track appointment is tomorrow (28/03) and will taking a letter of withdrawal with me for my current application. I am supposed to be flying next Sunday 03/04. Please let me know how it goes for you.. I have everything cross for your holiday!

Mine is a lost/ stolen application which was submitted on 27th Feb and I’m stuck in ‘processing’ – we fly on the 31st. I spoke to HMPO twice this week, on Tuesday I was told renewals were taking 4 weeks from the day the application goes to processing – not the day you apply (very misleading!).
I’m pulling out my application on Monday when I go to the fast track appointment at 9.00am. From what I’ve been reading I have more chance of getting my fast track passport in 6 days than I am waiting for this normal application to go through processing.
I don’t have any documents to request back but they did tell me it’s taking around 2 weeks to get old passports back to people if you withdraw the application..

Hey, I saw this advice yesterday on another forum:

Check on tnt passport delivery with the passport application number. Our oldest daughters was stuck at printing but it was actually with them for 5 days.we just had to ask for it to be delivered and it came the next day.

    Hope it helps!
