@Estival the wife has received a text “You should receive your new passport within a few working days. We’ll send your supporting documents separately.”

All so wishy washy… but it does appear they may send a text when the process moves along. I still wouldn’t assume they’ve failed to move along with yours even without semi-reassuring text messages though.

@Upsidedown I’ve emailed everything apart from the upgradesteam email as I was told this is for people pre-10 weeks. I was told by Belfast upgrades last night that the passport would be printed this morning…

I’ll contribute by saying every HMPO escalation related call I’ve had has mentioned proof – despite being past 12 weeks. I don’t think everyone is having the same experience with this.

Same boat @Estival, ours is paper too which is a regret. No contact regarding fast track this morning – apart from an older callback that was outstanding. They put me on hold as I asked to track over the phone hoping to learn of progress. Got through to upgrades for tracking, going through the motions with details – call cuts off. Classic! So frustrating they don’t call back when you get cut off, it’s happened a few times to me now.

Going to do a webform now, won’t do any harm.

@Estival I can’t tell my wife that, she’ll definitely have a coronary! She’s been extremely stressed by all this. Really hoping this works out for us all!

@COLANDJO73 Belfast upgrades finally called me, similar situation to you – they’re pushing it through tonight, printing tomorrow morning and should be with us Thursday. We travel 26th.

How many expedite requests have you had put through by callback and following up yourself with an email as instructed? I did my second one of those this afternoon at around 13:45, told to have “Second Request” at the front of the subject line of the follow up email I was told to send, call from Belfast upgrades received this evening at 19:20.

Obviously I don’t know if it was the second request that really got the result but I’d like to think there’s hope for you without knowing the specific hold up with your daughter’s application.

Call from a private number this evening around 7:20pm, it was finally Belfast upgrades, pushing it through tonight for printing in the morning. Given the option to collect from a passport office or receive via RM 48hr guaranteed or could pay extra for Weds by 1pm guaranteed. 48hr chosen as in plenty time for travel on 26th.

    Good luck all!

Just received a call back from upgrades for a second request to upgrade as past 10 weeks and travel in 1.

I asked if I should also email *upgradeteam@hmpo.gov.uk (* = office like belfast) and they said that is for people between 6 and 10 weeks since applied with less than two to travel seeking to pay to upgrade to a faster service.

I am past that stage and should be eligible for upgrade at no extra cost as past 10 weeks and need in less than two.

@snoopy55 I’m not sure I’d rely on either piece of information as factual – they are so overrun I don’t think they know. I could speak to two different people within an hour of each other and they’d both say my application is at different stages (confirmed by doing this multiple times a day for the last week)

    Keep pestering I think…

@tayls123 should subject just be “25/07/2022” or “Date of Travel 25/07/2022” ? Thanks

@flyby interesting how they give everyone different guidance! They don’t tell you specific offices are contactable and I wasn’t contacted by Belfast where my daughters application is stuck but was given the EscalatedService email and the information I needed to provide to that email.

I’m really sorry but I don’t know for definite. I have picked up a little knowledge just from reading threads on here. A recent story was someone turned up without an appointment at their local passport office and had a passport by the afternoon – but I think they already had an application sitting idle at another office (not cancelled like yours).

Perhaps you would need to book a premium 1 day or fast track 1 week appointment – @ukpassportcheck on twitter is a good place to keep an eye on for guidance on getting an appointment.

Sorry I can’t be of more help.

Is going to a passport office an option for you? I’m not sure there’ll be any way to get a passport in 10 days without going to one of their offices.

@screamer I got a call back yesterday at 5pm, double checked I was past 10 weeks and with less than 2 weeks to travel, then put me on hold to pass me to the upgrade team, on hold for 51 mins then the call just cut off.

I then called 0300 330 0901 again which only got me put me back on the call back list. That call was returned at 2pm today. This call started the urgent upgrade request and instructed me to email escalatedservice@hmpo.gov.uk with relevant details and flight booking evidence attached.
