I applied for 2 child renewals on 12th April via paper application and PO check and send so haven’t had the ability to track the applications.
I rang after 6 weeks of waiting just to check that the applications had been received as I only got 1 text message not 2 and was told that both applications were received on 19th April at Durham and had been awaiting examination since 26th April.
I rang the helpline last Thursday as it had been 10 weeks and 2 days since submission and was passed onto the progress team (eventually) who said that the 10 weeks only starts from them receiving the application so I was only at 9 weeks 2 days as far as they were concerned and there was no point ringing back until I was due to fly within 2 weeks as they couldn’t do anything until that point anyway. I was told that both applications were still at the awaiting examination stage.
I received 1 text message today to say that I should expect to receive my passport within the next few days.
I followed the advice I’d read on here and used a link that someone had previously posted for TNT tracking and both passports are due for delivery tomorrow.
I’m not holding my breath as I won’t believe it until they’re both actually in my hands but I’m growing more optimistic 🤞

I submitted 2 paper child renewals via post office check and send on 12th April and haven’t got them back yet.
I phoned and spoke to someone on the helpline and they said they’d been received and were still waiting to be looked at by an examiner and had been since 26th April

I managed to get through to a real person this morning; I didn’t wait to listen to the automated message at the beginning, just pressed 8 then when it started speaking again I pressed 3 and it put me in a queue.
I was in the queue for about half hour before they answered but that seems quite quick compared with the experiences of some people on here

I sent off 2 child renewal applications via post office check and send (paper applications) both at the same time to the Durham office and as I’ve had no success with the online tracker, despite completing the form at least 3 times, I phoned the passport office helpline to ensure that they had both been received as I only had confirmation of 1 application received. The man on the phone was lovely and checked the status of both applications and said that I should receive the passports within the 10 week period which starts with submission.

    Submitted 12th April
Received 19th April (received 1 text message not 2)
    Awaiting examiner 26th April

I did the online tracker thing three times then gave up.
I received an email from them this morning, 16 days after I last submitted a request.
The email isn’t an update though, it is a request for more information to enable them to give me an update 🤷🏻‍♀️
I filled in all of the details on the online form including the application barcode so I have no clue what is going on but I’ve just about lost the will to live with the whole situation 🤷🏻‍♀️

I also filled in paper renewal forms for both my children and sent them through check and send and have received no updates whatsoever for one, and only a text message to say my application has been received for the other.
I don’t know which application is which though or where the other is, they were both sent on the same day through the same post office.
I have tried the tracker 3 times now to try to find out the status of both applications and although it says that they will email the updates I am still waiting to receive any type of update and it has been a week since I last requested it through the tracker.
I’m assuming that as the applications are paper that they will be through the manual route anyway rather than the digital so I may call to ask for updates as I don’t really have anything to lose with regards to it being slowed down to the manual route.

I am totally regretting doing paper applications now; I’ve done renewals for both my kids and used the check and send etc yet I’ve only received 1 text message saying application has been received, no idea which or where the other one is 🤷🏻‍♀️
Tried the tracker twice and had no reply either time
I know there’s not a great deal I can do about it but it’s stressful all the same

No one has used the paper application tracker then?
Still waiting on an email, 2 days later 🙄
