My application was approved on Thursday, printed and sent yesterday. Assuming it’ll be delivered early next week ☺️ I think the general trend I’ve seen is that the application is approved and then posted the following day.

I contacted via twitter but didn’t have much success, I then emailed and was given a generic reply that they couldn’t do anything. I then called and explained my situation as we genuinely need the passport (moving abroad – tenancy ending etc). He said someone would be in contact and I’d need to provide evidence for urgency, which I said I could do. The next day I had a phone call back, I was told they’re only speeding up applications needed within two weeks, he was really helpful and said to call back if I didn’t have the passport two weeks before travel.

Honestly, try and call them if you’re desperate. They were really helpful and gave me peace of mind.

I’d applied for the passport on 18th March, it was approved yesterday. We need it for July so was naturally getting antsy.

Finally had my daughter’s first passport approved today!

Application being processed 1 May 2020
Documents received 27 March 2020

Applied on the 18th March for child first passport – sent to Liverpool office and I’ve just had a text to say the application has been approved! Exactly three months!

I’ve just had that email/text as well so assume it’s a generic one sent to everyone.

Had a text similar to that one on 30th April and 14th May…so I’m not getting my hopes up that it means very much.

We’re still waiting for our daughters first passport. Liverpool office – application was submitted on 18th March. Changed to being processed on 1st May.

So pleased that people are starting to get their passports…gutted we’ve been waiting since 18th March and still havent heard anything. So incredibly frustrating.

I submitted my application on 18th March and still waiting….it was my understanding that they were still processing applications though?

Can’t believe you’re still waiting dan! My application was online but documents sent to Liverpool…also for child first passport. Cant believe how long it’s taking.

Just thought I’d add our waiting time…child’s 1st passport. I’m not British (EU citizen) but my husband is British, and our daughter was born in the UK in Feb. Our sons first passport took about 10 days a couple years ago….!

We sent our documents before lockdown was announced ans they took about a week to arrive despite being sent first class tracked delivery…

I was really hopeful when I logged in to see my application was being processed but not sure why it took over a month from being received to being processed. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
