    Copying this from what I posted on a fb page, hopefully helps some people out….

    So my stress has ended finally, still haven’t got my sons passport after 11 weeks, was due to go on holiday in 9 days.
    For anyone booked with TUI, I called this number 0203 636 1931.
    They have a new policy if your passport is over 10 weeks in application and your due to travel in 10 days you can move your holiday with free admins fees. There seems to be some been told different things, like have to have booked in store or by phone originally, but I booked online, also some been told have to move holiday to dates before October ‘22.
    I sourced this number from a TUI store (Which also told me I would have to take holiday before October ‘22).
    But when i called this number I was told no limit to dates for changes, infact you can make whatever changes you like.
    Can change destination, Airport, duration etc..
    Basically you get to pick a new holiday and they use your current booking Total price paid towards new holiday and minus admin fees.
    They require proof over 10 weeks, I just emailed a screenshot of application progress!
    So we was due to go Spain for 2 weeks on the 5th June, we just moved the holiday as it is and changed dates to go 7th May ‘23.
    (Hopefully passport arrives by then 😂)
    We payed £40 extra for difference is holiday cost, which also wasn’t due until so many months before the new holiday day but being £40 just paid it.
    A total of £1,690.74 admin fees were removed!
    So just to help out people and possibly saves family’s £1,000s call this number 0203 636 1931

    Just to add to post, the free admins charges can only be applied once 10 days or under to travel and no later than 3 days until travel, so don’t leave until last minute. If less than 72 hours until travel the admin charges will be applied again.

    M Rob,
    I am pretty much in same situation as you, I needed wife application to be linked to my sons for marriage certificate, I’ve been told for 5 weeks now it will be linked up or it has been. Then on Monday it came back in post so i had to resend special delivery. It arrived Wednesday and like you I imagine if sitting in post for a while which will affect upgrade, I am within 14 days on Sunday so I will still try upgrade. One advisor told me i should still be able to upgrade as my sons as original document the birth certificate has been scanned and marriage is only needed to confirm mothers change of name. Keep us updated if manage any breakthrough

    Best of luck to all! I felt positive until today, seen on a fb group seems to be more people today not successful from going office and being told it is what it is basically

    Wow cutting it fine! It shouldn’t be like this it’s just impractical for people. We are supposed to go away for 2 weeks and need to buy new clothes for my 20 month old son but there’s no point until have the passport

    It is a sham, I think all extra staff hired seem to be working from home. Truthfully I think I won’t get my sons passport on time now, but I will keep trying until last day

    Leesa160, hopefully you will get scanned soon then if 9 days in and saying 14 days max. 14 days would leave me 3 days left until flights, I’m just annoyed cause they had my documents and some reason send them back by mistake

    I travel Sunday 5th June at 7am, I was told to write a note along with marriage certificate I posted back explaining what had happened and the need for it to be scanned early. But if it just gets shoved in a post room then they won’t read note until open letter I guess. I phoned this morning aswell and they took my tracking number and forward it to office to try a speed up need for document to be scanned, said other that than all I can do is wait

    Leesa160, that’s not good news! My marriage certificate was sent back by mistake on Monday and they had previously had it for 6-7 weeks. I’ve had to send it back and it arrived Wednesday morning. I travel in 17 days so hope documents won’t take long to scan but seeing yours still not being done after 9 days is worrying

    If you have document in hand and can travel I would go to Peterborough office if it’s not too far, I’ve heard they are great at getting your passport on day especially if within 48 hours of flight. I’m now thinking should I pay £35 and get another marriage certificate urgently if I need to take one to passport office just in case it gets stuck in system like you said. Think I’ll call again see what more help I can achieve

    Ian, I’m also only need my sons mothers marriage certificate to complete application. I rang 13th April first to link his mothers application as she had marriage certificate with her application, it was not done and again on 10th may I spoke to progress team and they said they had now linked the application for the document. On 16th may the marriage certificate from mothers application came back to us in post. I spoke yesterday and was told it had been sent back by mistake and to resend special delivery as we have only 2 half weeks until travel. I was also told on phone I am eligible for upgrade as his birth certificate has been scanned on system and only require marriage certificate to confirm mothers name change. Seems we are getting told different things! I hope now I have resent the marriage certificate which was signed for today that it can get scanned on time for me to be able to upgrade or go to office last min to collect the passport

    Great news! What time did you arrive there? Hearing a lot of people coming away with passports from Peterborough if they flying within 48 hours, I’m hoping to go if reach that point, it’s jubilee bank holiday Friday for me so hope they will be open still…

    After phoning today I was told my wife’s application had not been linked to my sons for the marriage certificate required. I called after we received it back in post yesterday.
    5 weeks ago I was first told they had been linked and been told numerous times since. So I’ve had to resend certificate today special delivery along with a note explaining what’s happened. Just 2 and half weeks until travel now so hopefully can process document quickly and we can upgrade!

    Hi all,

    I applied for my sons passport on 14th of march, documents were received 1st April and then on 13th April I was asked for documents for mothers name change from marriage. My wife (His Mother) also had a passport application with marriage certificate with her application. I rang on same day and they said would link the 2 application together, about a week later my wife’s passport arrived. I waited a further week then called again to find out applications had not been linked and was told I’ll receive a call back from progress team within 48 hours. After numerous times ringing it was a further 2 weeks until i received the call which was last week 10th may, I was told that day that they was now linked together. Today on 16th may the marriage certificate came back in post from my wife’s application. Does anyone know if they would still have access to this on file from my wife’s application as would need this document to be able to upgrade my sons as we travel 2 weeks this Sunday. I’m thinking if i have to now resend it passport will never arrive on time. I called today then go transferred to progress team, after 2 hours on the line I was speaking to progress team then about 60 seconds in the line cut out!
