Child renewal (u12), online application approved within 32 days. Here’s my timeline:
    Submitted 31/5
    Received 31/5
    Documents received 08/6
    Processing started 09/6
Advised via Twitter that it had gone into examination 01/7
    Approved 02/7

Like many, I have been anxious due to the long time delays experienced by others, and perplexed when passports have bypassed mine, moving swiftly to approval.

From my experience, and what I have read here, the HMPOs definitely seem to be speeding up, and are hopefully well on their way to clearing the backlog created Pre and post Covid. Stay positive all. This forum will hopefully keep your hopes up!!

Ah I see, thank you. I have been waiting since 31/5, but for us progress has been so very slow!

Yasmine, your application seems to have breezed through the system. May I ask, were exceptional reasons put forward which expedited the process? Many thanks

I know the passport offices are open over the weekend, but has anyone noticed if applications are actually approved on a Saturday or Sunday?

I am completely perplexed by the whole process. Similar, standard applications are being approved, despite being submitted at a later date than others?! This seems to be the same at all the offices from what I’ve read. I submitted my son’s renewal (u12yrs) online on 31/5. Documents received 8/6, the application has remained in processing since 9/6. Someone earlier mentioned an examination phase, hopefully they will be able to assist.
While it is refreshing to hear of applications being finalised, it can also be frustrating when yours isn’t moving while others are breezing through the system. Good luck all!

May I ask, when did you submit your application and which office is it at? I have no idea what this means, but hopefully making positive progress!
