    @Gemzy I guess its no different to people paying more to get their passport dont the same day at an office. I think at this stage its dog eat dog in the passport application world. We have to do what we have to do, sometimes following protocol gets us nowhere.
    I really hope we all get sorted asap. Th stress is too much.

    no idea at all, no explanation. It was the same person 3 times, then again same person on the paper version.

    Identity details received doesn’t mean they have everything they need, because we got that message twice and yet still had to do more.
    They rejected our counter signature time and time again, in the end we had to do it by paper instead.
    This is our current time line below. I spoke to someone great on the online chat today who checked the application and said he can see there’s nothing outstanding on the application. Everything they need has been received.

    oh its awful I know. The stress is unreal, I cant imagine how those travelling in the next few days must feel.
    My daughters was an online application but they kept rejecting the photos, then kept on asking me to get a counter signature even though their system was also saying that that bit had been done and received. In the end we had to switch it to a paper form, it pulled all the info through and had her photo on it. We just needed to get it counter signed manually and send it off. That caused us a months delay. So im not sure if we’re classed as a digital application or paper. I hope you’ll have it sorted soon. im prepared to go to the newport office and wait all day if i have to despite the passport being sent to bootle, newports just nearer. Goodluck.

    one thing you can do is download an app called shop. You put your email address in and address and it alerts you when any courier has a parcel to deliver to you, even if you havent been told something is being delivered. That would possibly put your mind at rest once it has been approved at the passport office, they may not update their system quickly so a passport could be on its way to you and the tracker may not always tell you it is.

    @Rosie1973 I spoke to them today on live chat and on the phone as my daughters is still on processing after 3 weeks. I just wanted to check they had everything they needed. I was told that the 10 weeks starts from the day it changes to processing and that nothing can move it along faster. We fly same week as you, so we do still have time to get them sorted thank god, but doesn’t stop the panic does it

    @Eagles6 how do you know if it’s been assigned yet ?
    Mine just says processing and been stuck there since 22/4.

    My child’s renewal was changed to processing on 22/4. Not moved since.
    Are bootle one of the slower offices?
    I know some are coping better with the high numbers than other offices.
    Starting to panic already as the 10 weeks is the day after we should fly but it said 5 weeks when we applied so i booked the holiday.

    I applied for daughters renewal in march but their system kept causing issues so we had to do a paper application.system said received 22/4 and says processing.
    I called them to cancel it and go to the office for a same day service and they said I couldn’t ad already at processing stage 😩
    We travel 25/6 and just feel sick every day while we wait.
