Your passport will not have a reference to the King that I can assure you – firstly it’s simply too soon after her death and old stock that references the queen will still be issued – it doesn’t impact the legality of the document in any way.

Same on mine – I just assumed it’s a by product of the process to make the holes – it must involve heat, I think it’s a laser – I wouldn’t worry.

Could be days – could be weeks. I am afraid you’ll just have to wait it out.

To renew urgently look here https://www.gov.uk/get-a-passport-urgently/online-premium-service

    otherwise look here https://www.gov.uk/get-a-passport-urgently/1-week-fast-track-service

Either way it costs a lot more than a normal application

I am assuming the package would eventually be passed to Royal Mail for delivery? Royal Mail will have procedures for deliveries to the passport office in place as I assume they deliver thousands of items daily so they wouldn’t turn up early and no one be there, there will be a delivery plan in place.

So maybe the issue is with the French mail notification system not talking to the the Royal Mail notification system – chances are the item is there, but the notifications have just not worked across the two systems – however the only way you’ll find out if this is the case is to keep an eye on the application for a change in status.

I think with renewals they do ask for ID if the passport has been lost or stolen – or if you can’t be reasonably identified from your old passport v the new photos- but for a standard renewal there is no ID requirement.

I’ve no idea about the call back I had a remote interview in March and my application was approved an hour later – surprising me as it was a Sunday – once approved it took mine 10 days to be printed, and once the printed update happened I received the passport next day.

Your in the lap of the gods I am afraid. Mine was stuck at approved for 10 days, it then went to printed and was then delivered the next day this was in March. Once it goes to printed track it at TNT using your PEX number. Unless you’ve requested a pickup from an office I believe most passports are printed and dispatched from a ‘central print’ location so it may be too late to try and arrange for collection from an office now too – good luck

Sometimes posting to the forum doesn’t work – on the summary page your shown as the last poster but the actual post doesn’t appear in the relevant section

You say it’s a first passport application – so you’ll need an interview – have they contacted you for interview and you’ve missed the communication? Email not received (or in spam) or letter not received? It’s the only thing I can think of that will bring an application to a halt like this (unless of course it’s simply been mislaid) – clearly you need to contact them as a matter of urgency here

in reply to: Are passports printed during weekends too? #17765

I’ve just received the notification that my application has been approved, and I was wondering if passports can be printed during weekends or if I’ll have to wait until Monday to get my passport printed and sent.

Mine was on approved for 10 days before being printed back in March – so it’s not a next day thing once it’s approved. The passports are laser printed so each one has to be loaded into a cassette holder and put in batches through a machine, it’s not like a printing press throwing off thousands an hour!

Does that mean they’re actually starting to work on your passport, or could it mean it’s been logged and then put to the side

    Thank you

Yes it means they are working on it – your next update will be either docs received -> approved if you’re application is on the digital route or docs received -> processing if it’s dropped into the manual route. So the longer the status stays at docs received the better as it means you’re on the digital route which is by far the quickest.

Does it definitely mean there’s an issue or just sat on someone’s desk waiting to be looked at physically

As far as I understand it this doesn’t mean there is an issue as such it simply means that one or some the digital checks didn’t complete satisfactorily or couldn’t be completed – after all computers are yes or no – it may be as simple as someone just confirming something and that’s it or they may need more info.

Of course what checks the HMPO do are secret (for crime prevention) so it’s really hard to tell what’s happened but if you are confident all the docs are OK I would imagine it’s just routine.
