I just sent it to the Liverpool one with proof that we booked last year and kept on at them via twitter.

Thank you. Ours was done at nearly 7pm Friday evening. Praying it will be printed today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Although I’ve seen a few stuck at this stage so it makes me worrying. I don’t think I will stop worrying until I get the passport in my hand. It’s awful isn’t it as I don’t want to even buy anything for the holiday yet in case I don’t get it and waste more money. It’s hard to know what to do for the best but I will certainly be rushing once it’s here!!

How long did people wait from approval to printing? My son’s was approved Friday. 19 days to travel so I am hoping we should be ok although I have seen people get stuck at different stages.

Which passport office has it gone to? I would honestly keep tweeting the twitter team, from what I have seen the are really efficient and can get things done quickly.

I sent it to this one. I don’t know if it helped. I got a generic reply saying they couldn’t help – Liverpool@HMPO.gov.uk

Here is our update. We fly 3 weeks today so I am feeling a little more positive! I know that we have been extremely lucky so far, fingers crossed.
I emailed with proof of the holiday and so I don’t know if that has helped.

I have seen people say they are moving them around so that the work load is evenly distributed. I am in the North and applied for 2 passports. One went to Newport, one to Peterborough.

Here is our time line. Child’s renewal, applied online, I paid around £7 at the post office for tracked next day delivery for the old passport.

I won’t stop panicking until the passport is in my hand although things are looking positive at the moment.

We followed government guidance, didn’t apply as we thought the holiday would be cancelled.
I have email proof of holiday and sent a direct message through twitter with our travel date- 01.08.20.

I do believe HMPO is working hard to get everyone’s application completed. I really think the government should have considered all of this when announcing the air bridges!! 2 stages of my application were completed after 6pm so they are definitely working hard which I am grateful for. I haven’t slept and have been in a complete state since air bridges were announced!!

CaboG – we had this holiday booked before the lockdown. It was £4,000. We followed the government guidance and didn’t apply for a passport as it wasn’t urgent. Air bridges were then announced at it became urgent. I cannot ring our airline and say we cannot go as we don’t have a passport as that isn’t a valid reason for a refund.
Me and my partner have worked out buts off the whole of lockdown and followed every single guidance given out by the government. I am not prepared to just lose thousands. Staying local is great but not at that cost. Please consider others circumstances before being so judgemental.

I have been coming on this site daily and constantly refreshing the posts ha!
So thought I would help others out. We are due to fly on the 1st August and we thought our holiday would be cancelled. When the air bridges were announced my partner remembered his passport had ran out- our family of 4 passports were all due to run out every year for the next 4 years. We thought my partner’s was first.
He applied for his on the 22nd June and we had it back this week. It took about 2 weeks being sent to Peterborough.

On Monday I had a bit of a brain wave and realised my son’s had also expired. Within 10 mins of realising, I had applied, had his picture verified by a nurse and sprinted to the post office to send his passport. After finding this site, I have emailed, called, got my MP involved and tweeted!
Here is where we are at so far. I am impressed with the process at the moment but also in a massive panic about the fact lots of applications seem to get stuck at processing. I know it is a massive mistake on our part but I am sure a lot of you are in the same situation where we didn’t even consider that travel would be a possibility this year!
I find it crazy that air bridges were announced when the passport offices were obviously struggling. There should be some extra help given from the government!

We are due to fly 3 weeks tomorrow-

Just to add that our status changed to being processed about 15 minutes after I had a reply on twitter to say that they had added our travel date to our application.

Can anyone give time scales on how long they were waiting at the processing stage recently please?
