Estival, I applied online on the 27th April but they only started counting the wait from the date they messaged me to say they had received my old passport. Did you send all your documents along with your application?

Jobee, I am in a similar position. My 10 weeks is up on the 13th July. I have contacted the main phone number on Saturday as I am now two weeks before I travel. Also, contacted my MP who has been a good support so far.

    Good luck!!!

Given the 10 week restriction before contacting them, you will probably now need to wait until you are two weeks from your travel date before they will even listen to you. My 10 weeks is up on 13th July but I contacted them on Saturday as I’m due to travel on the 23rd July. Someone should be getting back to me in the next 72 hours commencing from 9th July.

Contact your MP to see if they can do anything. My MP has been extremely helpful so far and it does make you feel you have someone else fighting your case.

    Good luck!

I have emailed the expedited service email address today. Our 10 week wait is not up until 13th July however I am now 2 weeks away from travelling. Received automated email back from them stating they only consider applications that are 10 weeks old, it doesn’t mention anything about being within 2 weeks of travel. Did anyone get any success from being in a similar position? i.e. less than ten weeks since docs received but within 2 weeks of travel?

Sounds like a similar predicament to me. Docs received by them on 4th May. Gone to Belfast office. My 10 weeks is up on the 13th July however due to travelling on the 23rd I will be contacting them on the 9th to start the expediting process.
In answer to your question you cannot cancel and reapply with a Fast track application (i’ve asked them that question already) plus its on one of the forums on here too.
I have involved my MP and so far so good. They have told me to email them again if nothing is received by the 9th (pretty sure it wont be !!!).
Keep us up to date with how you get on and I wish you good luck to getting the passport through in time.

If I were you I’d be getting on to them every day. Email the expedite team at London until they get it moving. Also worthwhile involving your MP. You may have to wait until 5th August though as they are only dealing with people flying in next 14 days. Good luck!

Glad to hear it Helly87. I am due to travel on the 23rd so I’m readying myself for expediting from 9th July. I’ve also involved my MP in the matter so hopefully something will work and I can be sorted out by the 23rd. Enjoy your holiday.

So is worst case scenario (if they have received all your documents online) to be able to do this 48 hour thing??

Extract from gov.uk suggests that you can’t fast track an application that has already been sent in. Has anyone been able to do this or am I stuck waiting on the original application being processed and issued?

If you’ve already applied for a passport and have not received it, do not pay for an urgent passport – you will not get your passport sooner or get a refund. You can track your passport application.
