Some hope for people still waiting. My daughters passport arrived Tuesday! Once it got to two weeks before my travel date I called asking for an upgrade. I spoke to a numerous helpful people who all said I needed to speak to the progress team and they would then call with the email address. Spoke to them last Tuesday, I emailed everything over as soon as I got off the phone and got the automated response. On the Friday I got another standard email saying they had received my upgrade request then on Saturday it changed to printed! I had not received a call from the Upgrade team to say it had been approved or to collect payment. I called again on Monday as I had been told I would be able to collect from an office but was told by two people this wasn’t possible once it’s changed to printed. Luckily this was not an issue as the next day it arrived 🙂

Long story short, try be patient, try not clog up the inboxes with numerous emails. It’s so frustrating but they seem to be doing everything they can to get them out on time.

Before the progress team called I had been on hold for ages and got caught off a few times and the next person put me through to ‘Customer service management team’ not sure if that helped get them to call back quicker!

    Application history

    Passport printed 8:30am on 14 May 2022
    Application approved 1:39pm on 12 May 2022
    Documents received 8:59am on 25 April 2022
    Application received 8:34am on 13 April 2022
Identity details received 8:33am on 13 April 2022
Email sent to person confirming your identity 8:57pm on 12 April 2022
Ask someone to confirm your identity 7:52pm on 12 April 2022
    Application submitted 7:52pm on 12 April 2022

@Gemzy I was just thinking the exact same! Just makes things worse for everyone else too.

Does anyone know once the status is changed to printed how long it takes for delivery? I’ve now been told I can’t collect which I’m pretty sure the progress team told me I could.

    Hi

I’ve recently emailed the upgrade team with my flight details and today got a message saying they’ve approved my application. Does anyone know what happens next? The automated response had said they would be in touch 48 hours so I was just expecting a call to pay for the upgrade. Hoping this means the ball is rolling

@arnoldol Thanks so much for replying!

I sent the documents to Peterborough but haven’t actually been told who is dealing with it. Would you just go ahead and email and not wait for the call back from the progress team?

@shanisedemi and @ImFlying that’s great news! Good to hear there are some getting sorted 🙂

What was the time frame from when your documents were received?

@arnoldol when were you given the email address for the upgrade team?

I’ve just spoken with someone who has told me the ‘Progress Team’ will call me in 24-48 hours to give me the email address for where to send evidence of my date of travel. Once that’s done I then need to wait another 48 hours to find out if its been approved.

I travel 2 weeks today so it all doesn’t quite seem possible! I’ve saw a few people sharing the email addresses for upgrade teams, if I was to just send my details to one does anyone think that would work or confuse things? I sent the documents for my childs first application to Peterborough.

Thanks! Is that using the 0300 330 0901 number? I feel every time I call it’s a different message/options given

I just spent over 1 hour 45 mins trying to get through only to get a message asking for me to leave my name and number for a representative to call back, do they actually call or will I need to try again tomorrow?

Waiting on my daughters first passport, flying 24 May

That makes me feel a bit better thanks! The woman was really nice but seemed to think it would take 2 weeks for the upgrade too which made me worried if its not on the system by the 10th then its not happening!

I spoke to someone just now who advised the application isn’t on the system yet (docs received 25 April) so they can’t upgrade it yet 🙁

Anyone know how long the upgrade can take? I’m due to fly 24 May. Or can you cancel application and book an appointment?

    Thanks!

Hi How do you know which passport office is dealing with your application? Also is there an email for this upgrade team? I’ve been trying to call all day and keep getting cut off.
