    Durham office have just called to take payment for my upgrade and I can pick it up from London tomorrowat 2pm. Never thought this would happen, but I don’t have my passport in my hands yet so hopefully payment goes through and I can go and see my poorly dad in Uganda next week.

    That’s such BS. I’ve lost my passport and need it ASAP and been told over the phone to request an upgrade.

    My plan is to go to Peterborough on Friday or Saturday but I may have my 6 year old with me- so it will be hell for her.

    I need my passport by Monday. Its currently awaiting to be seen by an examiner.

    I’ve emailed upgrade and escalated service. Only received an reply to acknowledge the date I need my passport.

    Called yesterday to see what was going on with my application but told that upgrade is not a guarantee.

    What should I do next?

    Worried I won’t get my passport by this weekend.

    Are they fed up of me calling and emailing? Maybe they’ve blacklisted me 🙁

    Why are they waiting until the day of the flight? Not everyone needs a passport for flights. Some people need their passport for ID.

    I’ve been told over the phone that an upgrade is not guaranteed. Going to be really disappointed of i don’t receive that phone call.

    I can’t offer any advice as I’m not at that stage…yet, but just wanted to wish you good luck. I hope you can get your passport tomorrow. Fingers crossed

    Do you live near Durham or was your application being processed there?

    I’m planning to travel there from London next weekend but don’t want to waste my time and money if they don’t hand over my passport.

    I emailed all offices and got a reply from Durham to say that they’ve acknowledged my upgrade request. Does that mean that Durham will print my passport? Can I go and pick it up in person if it gets too close to my travel date?

    I’ve emailed all offices and I’ve just received an email from the Durham office to acknowledge my request for an upgrade- not the automated email but one addressed to me.

    They said that they are prioritising applications in order of flight date, but I need my visa before I fly. They said not to send any more emails or calls as it may delay my application but I’m not sure they realise that I need my visa despite writing this a few times in my email.

    How long should I expect to wait if I fly 29th May but need to apply for a visa 23rd latest?

    Are the Durham office quick to process?
    And once approved and printed would i have to pick up from Durham? I’m located in London

    Are they really handing out passports 48 hours before travel?

    I have to use my passport to get a visa approved and I’m travelling on 29th May which is a Sunday so if I get it Friday then it’ll be too late to get my visa approved. What am I suppose to do?

    I’ve been contacting HMPO for days now. I booked my flights in February. I lost my passport 26th April and applied for the standard service as the website advised. I travel on 29th May but I need my passport to apply for my visa first. The latest I can apply for my visa is 20th May.

    My application is still in the processing stages and I’ve been told that it’s with the Durham office. I’m based in London so is it worth emailing all offices?

    I’m really worried that I won’t be able to get my visa in time.
