Nassao41 – first child passport. Timeframe was 3weeks when I applied otherwise I would have done an express no problem. Learn from our mistakes I suppose.
Application submitted 15th February and in processing since 8th March but today I received the ‘application approved’ text. Was supposed to fly yesterday! Aw well now to play the waiting game for delivery !
Paigeadkinx- I’ve been in processing since 8th March. First child passport. Should be flying tomorrow but have had to reschedule
Aidy – so glad you’ve had a nice smooth application! Some of us have been sitting in processing for 4 weeks, never mind the 2 weeks to receive documents or the two weeks to start processing. Seems to be quite a few on this forum in the same boat as me …. Holiday moved as we are supposed to be going tomorrow
Amy93 – my holiday was 4th April but I moved it a few weeks ago because the stress was making me obsessive and sick with worry! Its been cancelled twice already due to covid so I’m getting good at cancelling and rescheduling! We are now (hopefully) going 22nd may, which is over the 10weeks. But the advisor couldn’t say whether or not i would have it within the 10weeks

I’m still in processing (since 8th March) ! We chat yesterday says still no examiner assigned. I asked if there was anything wrong (he couldn’t say), I asked why it’s gone for manual checking rather than automatic approval- he said they are all manually checked. I asked why some are approved within a few days and mine was coming on 3 weeks- he réfère me to the waiting times on website. I said these are wrong as when I applied it was 3 weeks and I have been waiting 7 now. He said it can take 10 weeks and they have no control over it .

Dottiebess – I was in a similar situation only I forgot my daughter (9mths) didn’t have a passport to travel ! We had booked a good deal 8 weeks away and I applied for a passport ASAP. Just had to reschedule everything on Tuesday because there’s be no movement and after reading other stories on This forum I was making myself sick with stress worrying about whether it would arrive. You could phone, some people get someone nice and helpful I just got told ‘processing’ (that started 3 weeks after I applied and sent documents) can take 10 weeks.
Amy 93 – haven’t been asked for a new photo (yet). I just looked at the photo i submitted and it’s good enough(in my unqualified opinion!) – I tried various bed sheets and rooms! But it was taken when my daughter was teething and she has such a painful looking rash in it! Pity she’ll be stuck with it for 5years
Chelsea91 – this makes a lot of sense actually. I was rushing to get my application in that I took the photo on the floor on a white towel! I also think that my passport surname being different to birth cert surname prob hasn’t helped. Aw well, holiday moved to may now so I’ve a few extra weeks for it to come through.

Jespop – jeez. Crazy! I suppose people are getting braver booking so demand is going up. I was fortunate that as long as we cancelled/rescheduled 7 days before we would be fee free. Easy jet are doing free changed until end of March. We actually saved £450 and got an extra day holiday by moving to may ?! Car hire has doubled so we need to find a new supplier.
Amy93 – we had to choice of end of April or end of may so we went may because I was worried I’d still be in the same situation mid April!
It’s annoying that another forum I follow have be discussing passports these last few days and people are getting first child and first adults within two weeks! Someone had the cheek to complain the applied 23rd feb and only got passport today!
Well I just rescheduled our entire holiday until end of may. I couldn’t cope anymore with being attached to me phone waiting for news or stressing about whether it will arrive on time. I’ll certainly be leaving feedback on the entire process as it’s not what it’s made out to be. Hopefully everyone will hear some good news soon!
Hello, sorry I can’t be much help – you definitely need to phone.
I have been in processing over a week (started processing 3 weeks after I applied) but that is nothing compared to others who have been waiting 4 weeks in processing alone. Some cases seem to be in and out with no issues in 2-3 weeks so you might be ok?

I live in NI so I imagine postage will be even more of a nightmare, we seem to get forgotten about over here and delivery always takes 1-2 days longer than the main land
