Entering 11th week from submission, i spoke to advice line and expressed concerns and anxieties. I managed to get an urgent call back and application was escalated due to it being over 10 weeks. I had passport in my hand less than a week later, uncluding the long bank holiday

I was like this. Keep ringing advice line, press 8 then 3, tell them its making you ill/anxious and ask to speak to a manager. Ask for an urgent call back. I received one same day and had passport within a week

Yes, rang mid afternoon. Dialled and pressed 8 as soon as automated voice spoke. Listened until they said if….press 1 then i pressed 3. Never waited more than 5 mins for a connection. This is to advice line. Be persistent, ask to speak to a manager then ask to arrange urgent call back from progress team

HELLY87 and BRUSSELS83 i was in this situation last week. I rang advice line, pressed 8 then 3 and asked for urgent call back, they can request these I received call about an hour and half later and spoke to progress team told them i needed passport within 2 weeks as balance due and that I was feeling very anxious They put an alert on the application and it was approved, printed and delivered in4 days. It s worth a try

Several chats with the progress team have indicated that the office has linked the wrong passport to my application so it can not be verified. They have agreed to escalate and sent an alert but said, ‘need to give time to respond.’ Having already had 10 weeks this does not fill me with confidence.

Not always. I spoke with progress team 2 weeks ago who said there was no issue and the photo was fine, I just had to wait. Still waiting and now 10 weeks since submitted –

Yes, spoke to them 2 weeks ago and they said nothing was wrong and photo looked ok, just had to wait. I believe that there is a huge pile that has been put to one side (submitted in March) and they re focusing on new applications and dealing with these only when they are expedited.

Has anybody who applied mid March and been in processing since early April received their passport yet?

Also in processing since April 6th. Been on webchat and phone numerous times over last few weeks and still no progress. Been told ‘no rhyme or reason’ as to who is examined and who is left waiting. Feel there is a huge pile from March just left to one side

Processing since 6th April. Genuinely believe they are dealing with all recent incoming applications but have a pile which were in backlog only being dealt with when travel is imminent. Looks like an improvement but in reality lots still waiting.

I was lucky enough to jump onto online chat. After being told I just need to give it more time, I asked if it was with an examiner and told it was not yet assigned.

I m one of the unlucky ones who applied in March. Been processing since 6th April and not assigned yet, 5 weeks on. Seems so unfair some are being processed in around 3 weeks nd others forgotten.
Followed the rules and not booked travel, despite as a teacher wanting to travel May half term, and now can t upgrade as nothing booked. Penalised for following the rules and being organised
